The battle was fierce in the streets of Minneapois yesterday. The day started out with an hour long Feeder event where local talent threw down for the judges with the hopes of being one of the three to move onto the main event.
When the Downtown Throwdown began the Gods decided to rain down hail upon the contenders. Icy pellets added to the 80,000+ tons of trucked in snow. It didn't seem to thwart their efforts too much and after an insane display of talent the Judges; Sean Genovese, Jake Olsen-Elm, Zac Marben and Ethan Deiss chose the Top 5, Monster Move and the Anouncer's "Think Crab" Best QP trick. 1st: Ryan Paul 2nd: Nial Romanek 3rd: Aiden Flannagen 4th: Ted Borland 5th: Jaeger Bailey Monster Move: Jesse Paul Thank Crab QP Trick: Mitch Richmond Is it snowing in Minneapolis today?! It is on 3rd St. and Hennepin where the Downtown Throwdown is making it's Minnesota debut. It's a whole new 3-level course and a bunch of heavies from hometown Minneapolis and beyond have been invited to battle it out for $20,000! The Afterparty is at Mason's: 528 Hennepin Ave S. and 6th and Brain Dead Heart Attack and Ground Control are going to be playing for your viewing pleasure. Premieres in Reno never disappoint. I think it's because Reno knows how to party and they like to have a good time plus the drinking age there is like 18. Just kidding, it's 21 but there's no 4-foot rule like in WA. Cannonsburg is starting the season off with beer and snowboard videos tonight. If the night goes right, you should be nice and suds up by the time Brain Dead Heart Attack goes on. And it's FREE! Today from 2-8pm the POW/Spacecraft HQ is having a big sample sale. Jesse and Pika are stopping by to partake. It is beanie and glove season after all! Fall is a time for leaves changing colors, mulled wine and sheep-skin slippers. And snowboard video premieres!!!!
