The first thing people say about "Mind The Video Man" is that there's a whole bunch of new people in it. And that's exactly what we wanted to do; introduce some new talent (and a bunch of our veteran riders filmed for the DWD video). The video starts with some riders from early Think Thank videos; Burtner, McCarthy, Spinelli and Kurt Jenson literally passing the torch to the next generation (what the light bulb symbolizes). Yeah, we got deep. There are still riders from the OG Think Thank family too of course, whom we feel never tire of progressing freestyle snowboarding. But what Mind the Video Man is really about is examining what's happening with the snowboard video, where it's going next and how will that impact our culture. How do we create something of meaning that will stand the new media onslaught and the test of time? There are lots of hashtags, Insta-poaching (guy shooting with an iPhone right next to the photographer, shame on you instapoacher), analog YouTube web videos with none too subtle product placement pop-ups, buffering, buffering, buffering... This is more than a statement about digital vrs. physical. I's about the value we place on our heritage, our history and the story we want to leave behind for future generations.
Featuring: Jaeger Bailey, Curtis Woodman, Ryan Paul, Nial Romanek, Brandon Hammid, Kyle Lopiccolo, Brandon Reis, Ted Borland, Chris Beresford, Sean Black, Sam Hulbert, Jesse Burtner, Scott Stevens, Shane Wright, Ted lavoie and many more.
